Our ability to dry things has improved, during the last few years. Some of it is due to an improved understanding of Water Restoration Science. Add to this, outside of the box thinkers who have created more advanced equipment and methods for drying, which have been added to what we already had. It's, relatively, easy to see the changes. Often, when a student comes back, to one of my classes, for Continuing Education Credit, they'll comment, "This is different than the last class I took."
The S500 has had more changes made, more often, than any other IICRC Standard.
